Reflexology

Reflexology – Lisa Peckham M.A.R.

Reflexology is a non-invasive natural therapy which dates back to around 2500 B.C.E. in Egypt and China. This practice is based on the method of applying pressure to specific areas of the feet or hands – which mirror different parts or organs of the body. Reflexology has been around for nearly 5000 years, and would have disappeared long ago if it was ineffective, in fact, medical trials are now proving its benefits.

Reflexology is a holistic therapy where the whole body is treated, not just the symptoms you may be experiencing. The many health benefits of reflexology include relaxation, aiding sleep, helping to relieve tension, improving your sense of well being, mood and many more. If the body is in tune and balanced it is less likely to break down and become ill so we need to take care of our bodies. Reflexology doesn’t simply ease a symptom, it aims to treat the cause too.

It has been said that reflexology reaches the parts that other therapies cannot reach. One of its great contributions to general well-being is that it improves the circulation, stimulates the lymphatic system and helps to cleanse the body of toxins. I also incorporate VRT (Vertical Reflexology Therapy) into most treatments which has shown itself to be extremely effective in treating many imbalances in the body.
